About Excel On The Web
Chris Smashe founded Excel On the Web in 2004. While in the Marine Corps, Chris taught himself how to build basic websites, a skill that he used for the following 2 companies he worked for after he was discharged. He started working at the second company in 2002, which required an eCommerce website to sell supplies for their photo ID printers. Until this time, Chris had only built static HTML websites, but he was up for the challenge, so he found an eCommerce package called CandyPress and started the journey. Chris figured out how to make some required functionality changes to the software and gave it to other users of the CandyPress platform on the user forum, and this is when Chris became the guy that web designers called when they needed functionality added to their clients’ sites. After 2 years of working with designers worldwide, Chris decided to take it full time, and Excel on The Web was born.
Hailing from Oregon’s Rogue Valley area, Cheri Harder has worked with Excel on the Web for 14 years, after working on database and web development projects for several years before that. Starting with working with the CandyPress sites, she has added WordPress installations and maintenance, and SEO services, to her skill set.
